(i have coach ellwanger, but) i just wanted to say that movie is amazing :D
historically innaccurate, but very well made (cinematically speaking).
sadly, i don't think i ever saw it.
we watched it during latin last year, and i thought it was really good. its also very sad, i actually cried. good acting..very innaccurate.
for some reasons id rather hang out with my da and watch guy action and comidies then watch a frickn chick flick so i loved this movie it was so B.A. and by i mean bad apple lol;p
mr prill i agree on the historically incorect but i do have to say that Gladiator is one of the best movies ever made
I saw most of this movie, which i thought it was very good but barbaric(because of the son,Commodus, and how he killed everyone who were in his way sort of like Qin Hsuihuangdi and Mo-Tun). But i don't know what part in general are historically inaccurate(well i know that the original king died peacefully). The "Bread and Circus" theme is correct though, right?
Was the general really Maximus? And i thought the part where Maximus was about to get executed and he asked for a soldiers death after the son became the emperor was pretty sick

Yeah id say its a pretty good movie, but as mr. prill said, it was filmed during pax romana. during the campaign of rome, at the end of rome's good emperors. they dont show what it was as a repuplic.
does gladiator have singing or danny devito? i don't think so!

& I'm absolutely in love with that movie ;D
i liked that the gladiators whore armor on one arm like it really was so that they could move there free arm easier and it was a awesome movie

this is one of the best movies ever, and plus, the main character guy is verry good looking!
but i was very depressed that him and his family died in the end :(

i just want to say that it's not accurate but very entertaing. I probably choose old movie of Ben-Hur instead because im christian.
I saw this in latin last year and i think it is pretty much awesome. maybe not perfectly accurate but really entertaining. i liked it alot. my dad likes it too.
i was just woundering is this one of those movies were most of the stuff in it is false?
historically, the film does get several things wrong. however, the thing about gladiator is that it does manage to capture the feel of the time period that few films have managed to do.
