Well folks, here's the swine flu status report: 152 now dead in Mexico (only 20 confirmed as Swine Flu but more is coming; tambien, Mexico is still the only country that has reported deaths), 64 confirmed cases in the U.S., 13 confirmed cases in Canada, 3 confirmed cases in New Zealand, 2 confirmed cases in Great Britain, 2 confirmed cases in Spain, 2 confirmed cases in Israel, and now we have suspected cases in Brazil, Guatemala, Peru, Australia, South Korea, and 7 states in the European Union. We'll continue to follow this rapidly developing story. ugh. the knowledge of a disease is worse than the disease! i'm sorry, but I'm not going to chang my life because there's a new disease. people don't change for the flu or a cold so why this? i don't get it.

The other deaths then, the 153 you mentioned, if they were not confirmed swine flu, then how do they stil add that in the numbers? Anymore in U.S.? I heard there is no cure just yet, only ways to slow it.

Because of us being so globalized, any very eaisly spread disease can become pandemic very, very quickly-which is a very big deal. Have you not seen "I am Legend?" We have to be extra careful in this new globalized world with the spread of disease.
This is scary stuff. Its crazy how fast this thing is spreading. Based on the link Prill put up, it seems like experts aren't sure if this will be a pandemic or not. It seems like we are on the edge right now and it could go either way.
Nicole: THe deaths weren't officially confirmed as swine flu but it is very likely they were caused by swime flu so they still count them. Also swine flu is treatable but it would take several months to produce large amounts of antibiotics to trea a large scale outbreak (found this in the link too).
The first person died in the u.s. due to swine flue. It was a 23 month old infant

Looks like this thing could be getting really serious. Overall though still I'm not going to get too worried about this because worrying about this isn't going to do anything but get you paranoid which isn't any fun. With that being said, I'm still going to be following this closely because it is still a threat world.

yeah im just remembering the black death. it wiped out what was it 25% of the population? could that happen again except worse because the world is so globalized? its just scary that theres no cure yet and that its attacking the middle aged people not the young or the old.
Threat from North Korea for testing nukes...! Do they do this often? Is it "just" a threat?
and many more people have flu now. I'm suprised it's not spreading faster...

i know knowing is better but,learning more and more about this disease is scaring me.i honestly think that we're slowing repeating the thee black plaque.
wow this stuff is pretty scary. out all the confirmed cases, the US has the highest and this is 91. this is a pretty fast spreading virus. then the video by CNN showing the maps was pretty scary too. the maps looked like they were gonna spread just about everywhere.
