Sadly for Hungary, this story did not have a happy ending.

Burning flags, knocking down statues, parades, were those Stalin's men lying dead in the street? Quite a drmamatic preformance, and a pretty happy mood to go along with it.; Tue Mar 24, 06:01:00 PM

jessicafritz said...: Whoa, they were definitely not hiding the fact that they were for this idea. They burnt holes in the flag, and even went to the extremes (from what it looks like) to kill some people. They gladly were tearing down statues as well. Questions though. Who were the ones being killed, what exactly were the papers they kept reading, and did the tanks that were coming in from the Soviet Union (to help or stop them)? From the looks of it, tons of people were dying in this time. The violence seems to get worse as you go on.; Tue Mar 24, 06:54:00 PM
Thought said...: This was under the reign of Krushchev, They may have hated Stalin, sure, but I'm sure in general they hated their Russian rulers. If they celebrated the death of Stalin, that's one thing, but that was a total revolt away from the Soviet Union alltogether.

Theresa Dang said...: wow. that's pretty crazy. now i know why the star is everywhere, it was a communist symbol. the people in the video are everywhere running and and rebelling like crazy. burning books and flags, destroying the big red star, and Russian tanks withdraw from Hungarian soil.
