Who was Kaiser Wilhelm II?
he was like ruler(i think) of germany. and he 'ditched' russia becuase they were so far behind technologically. and he allied with austria. and he was the person who fleed like 3 days before the end of WWI. (resulting in democratic germany)
can someone explain what
HOME FRONT is?
That is talking about the war in the countries with the people of the countries. So like patriotism, nationalism with the people. there was more hatred b/w the civilians of countries than the solidiers.
Kaiser Wilhelm 2 was the last king of germany and he gave up his position a couple of days before the war was ended because he didnt want the peoples hatred after telling them that germany was winning and he'd have to admit that they lost. so he pushed the power over to a weak and new democracy, who got blamed for making germany loose the war.

Pan slavism was just a name for slavic nationalism.
Nicholis had no choice, with so much mutiny in the army he could not put down the rebellions.
Roosevelt put a lot of money into Latin America trying to keep their economy up, in reality he just didn't want any conlicts.
Kerensky was the prime minister before the coming of lenin into power. He ruled with the provisional gov. which was supported by the Petrograd soviets at first but then put down by the people. as a weakness due to its non fullfilemtn of promises. They didn't get Russia out of the war like they were supposed to. They were a weak gov. because russsia had no experience with a gov other than absolute monarchy. they weren't able to make the right decisions which led to the workers, military, sailors, and other soviets revolt.

well slavic nationalism was practically the trigger of all. It was the newly ottoman freed serbian gov. trying to get all the slavic nation to get together, especially the slavs from austria. they were behind the black hand who assasianted the arch duke.

He was the duke form Austria who visited Bosnia (who wanted independence) and got assassinated by the Black Hand.
Ferdinand was the 2nd in line to the austrian throne and was assassinated by the black hand, austria blamed the slavs and war began
Archduke Ferdinand was the austria/hungaryian next in line to throne who went to visit Bulgaria (slavic) and who was assassinated by the black hand. His death triggered the anger of the austrian gov. to mess with the serbians cause they knew that serbia was behind the black hand and the assasination. this led to russians getting involved to support the serbians and the germans to get involve and help the austrians. so on and so forth...

um yeah it was supposed to be but as the Serbian gov. wanted the combination of bulgaria and serbia, they supported the black hand who wanted to get out of austria. so they were kinda together and for the same cause.

Germany's plan to take Paris before Russia had time to get ready on the western front. Didn't work, Russia was too quick.

schiefflen plan was by the germans in the beginning of the war. it was their strategy to send their full force to france first cause they think that the russians are going to take forever to mobilize,so by the time the russians come germany would have gotten rid of france, but it didn't take russia too long so germany had to split army and fight at two fronts.

i think its like his name as a leader..ill duce in italian means that leader so its jsut referring to him as a leader.

Its in the part about the treaties, out of the fourteen pts, the m ajor ones were:
- self-determination
- formation of an association of nations.
The Indian National Congress was supported by hindus and muslims to get self-rule by collaborating with the britsh at first, but after the war they opposed the british completely. The nationalists drew encouragement from the fourteen pts and lenin/marx.
Whats "dollar diplomacy" vs. "yankee inperialism"?
Dollar diplomacy was the process of giving a lot of foreign loans to countries in Latin America.
I couldn't find yankee imperialism anywhere.

I think yankee imperialism was what countries in latin america called it when the US tried to "help" them in the early 20th century. Many saw the US's control as unwanted imperialism instead of help.

Socialism is more of an economic thing whereas communism is a economic and political thing. Communists want to get rid of capitalism completely(like stalin), while socialism wants to keep capitalism a small part of the economy (like lenin wanted)
isn't socialism when the government owns and regulates everything, but in communism [it's supposed] to be where the population owns everything and shares it amongst themselves?

the may 4th movement was a movement in china where the scholars and college students marched through to show hatred towards foreign influence in china.
the muslim league was the in india and they wanted independence but they were afraid that if they got independence the hindus would control everything.
the balfour declaration was by balfour who during the war, promised the jews a homeland in palestein.
the balfour declaration was when the british promised an independent state for the jews in palestine. [but didn't keep the promise because they made the same promise to the arabs.]

Total war?
Having everything devoted to war like factories are forced to make clothes and weapons for the soldiers and food production goes up to feed soldiers over seas.
total war...that's when your entire country (men, women, children) is involved with the war with either actual fighting on the front, propaganda, making war supplies, etc. During total war, the gov't takes control of everything.
total war is when anything the country does is somehow effecting or helping the war. the country becomes totally for the war supporting their side and theuir economy and production is based on supplies for war. there is no difference b/w the combaters and the civilians.

Chiang Kaishek ended the good realationship of communism with the guomingdang and so he focused on the guomingdang only. He throws the communists out of china. He wanted to launch political and military expeditions, the northern expeditions, that aimed to unify the nation.
